Things really are bigger in Texas. More than 10 black pediatricians earned a coveted spot on D Magazine’s list of recommended doctors, and this Honeycomb mom should know.
I scoured each page of their 33-page registry in search for top black pediatricians in Dallas, and the magazine did not disappoint. Although black doctors were in the minority, it was one of the more diverse lists of the cities I’ve covered.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thank you for this article! I was having a hard time finding a Dr. and this solved that problem ?
I wish there were more doctors of color in the area who accept Medicaid insurance…
Same. I ran into a similar problem when seeking counseling services. Not a lot of doctors with availability accept any insurance.
This is the exact list I’ve been needing. It is so important to me that my childrne have an African American Dr. at this point. Their previous pediatrician never seemed to tend to the pressing questions I had. It was always just a generaic answer. I’ve also found that many insurance companies have so many provider categories that you can search by but none of them allow you to search by race. I’m assuming its too controverisal, but that’s important to me and my household at this point. It hasn’t always been, but after years of dealing with unresolved health issues with 2 of my children, I know that having a pediatrician who shares like race would likely give us the benefit of said pediatrician being able to easier identify and empathize with some of our health issues as well. So thanks again for taking the time to put such an awesome, thorough resource together.
Aww no problem at all! I wish I could do more. It is so important that our children can see themselves in the professionals that serve them.
